UNIDO Funds Green Tech to Improve Nigeria's Rural Electricity Generation
Nigeria gets $2.6m UNIDO support for rural electrification.
United Nation International Development Organization, UNIDO, has obtained funding for 2.6 million dollars to support for rural electrification in Nigeria.
The fund will be used to generate power through small scale hydro power to demonstrate the small scale hydro-power to powerhouse and factories in places that have not been reached by the electricity.

Jonathan asks Nigerians to pray more for Buhari
National Christian Centre, Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan employed Nigerians on Sunday to pray for the incoming government of Muhammadu Buhari.
Jonathan said the incoming government needed more prayers now because any decision taken by its officials would have a lasting effect on the nation while he would only be taking personal decisions henceforth.
The President told the congregation which included the Vice President-elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and his wife, Dolapo, at his 2015 presidential thanksgiving and inauguration interdenominational church service, that the dreams of the Nigeria's founding fathers can not be achieved without the help of God.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has received an honorary Doctorate degree from Yale University US
Nigeria's Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has received an honorary Doctorate degree of Human Letters, by the prestigious Yale University in the US yesterday May 18th. Along side African singer, Angelique Kidjo who was awarded Honorary Doctorate of Music.
Giving out the award, the President of the University Professor Peter Salovey described Okonjo-Iweala as “a brilliant reformer and dedicated public servant.” He said that Minister “has spearheaded efforts to stabilize and grow Nigeria’s economy, battling widespread government corruption and creating greater fiscal transparency and discipline.”

Swiss banks now require proof of earned money before accepting deposits from Nigerians
The age of
money laundering in Nigeria might be coming to an end with the emergence of
Gen. Buhari as Nigeria’s President-elect and the support of the Swiss
government.
The Swiss
Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Hans-Rudolf Hodel, said depositors will have to prove
they earned any money they intend to deposit in any Swiss bank accounts.
Hodel stated this during an interaction with
newsmen after paying a courtesy visit to the Nigerian President-elect, retired Maj.-Gen.
Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja on Monday.
