FG Frees Social Media as Naira Depreciates to Dollar


We Have No Plan to Regulate Online Media - FG


Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of information and culture says the Federal Government will not regulate the use of social media in Nigeria.

The Minister urged Online Publications to regulate their activities to ensure credibility and uphold public trust in Social Media.

Mohammed stated this on Friday while addressing Online Publishers in Lagos.

FIRM DRAGS PDP TO COURT OVER JONATHAN CAMPAIGN’S N360M DEBT




‎An Abuja-based firm, Twinkle Nigeria Limited, has dragged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and some of the party’s 2015 presidential campaign committee members before a Federal High Court in Maitama Abuja over alleged failure to pay a N350m debt it accrued as a result of business transaction.

Femi Falana, counsel to the firm alleged that its services were engaged by the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation to “beautify and decorate” the campaign venues used by former President, Goodluck Jonathan as PDP presidential candidate during the 2015 electioneering period.

ARMS SCANDAL: EFCC ALLEGEDLY SET TO WRITE EX-PRESIDENT JONATHAN



The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission may write former President Goodluck Jonathan in connection with its ongoing investigation into arms procurement scam.

It was gathered that the commission was planning to write the former President because his name had consistently featured in the interrogation of some suspects.

A former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), was reported to have said he disbursed funds from his office based on the instruction of the former President. Also, a former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had two weeks ago, said she transferred money to the former NSA as a result of a decision reached at a meeting presided over by Jonathan.
