The Current Economic Times in Nigeria

Times are hard has become a common phrase in Nigeria, being the largest economy in Africa and 21st largest economy in the world in terms of nominal GDP is a theoretical terms that is not felt in the practical living conditions of Nigerians.

The economic times in Nigeria is sickening, Nigeria is having serious economic meltdown. Price of crude oil is dropping, the government is missing in responsibilities, companies are shutting down, people are losing their jobs, workers who managed to remain employed are struggling to accept their salaries in downward review and the near future does not project well for the Nigerian economy.

The high level of political irresponsibility displayed by most of the Nigerian leaders (especially the current government) can not be separated with the current economic times in Nigeria.

I do not want to say our leaders have failed us, instead I will call on the Nigerian people to look inward for the solution to remedy the Nigerian economy.

Every great nation with outstanding business enterprises and financial institutions, and every nation with accountable political leaders, began their walk to greatness by creating vision of a better nation before they became reality.

Today, the Americans are celebrating Martin Luther King's contributions to american society. I join them to celebrate this great man of history.

What Nigerian needs at this time is not a hike in oil price, we have enjoyed the oil money for the past 50 years. Nigeria needs you and me to rise up to the call our time and imagine a better Nigeria, push boundaries and create the Nigeria of our dream.

As a Nigerian, you must see yourself as a superior being, do not allow the current economic times in Nigeria becloud your thinking faculty.

Prepare yourself adequately to occupy leadership position. Most of the problems we are facing today in Nigeria were caused by leaders who were not prepared to become leaders.

Be accountable in little things, trust yourself to the truth and continue to develop yourself in every capacity.

Success requires daily efforts, but you will only be successful when you believe in yourself.

So believe in yourself and believe in a better Nigeria.
