Rep Member Calls For Re-opening Of Banks In Potiskum

Hon Sabo Garbu, the chairman, House Committee on Chad Basin Development Authority, who represents Potiskum/Nangere federal constituency of Yobe State has called for the re-opening of eight commercial banks shut down in the last four years after series of attacks by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Potiskum, Yobe State.

According to him, the call was necessary considering the difficulties the people of the area are facing in accessing funds and carrying out banking transaction.

Hon. Garbu made the call when he provided 200 tricycles known as Keke NAPEP to individuals as a way of empowering them and donated transformers and boreholes in each ward of his constituency.

He had earlier distributed 500 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms to students seeking admission into higher institutions in the constituency and large quantity of exercise books to primary schools while contracting teachers to coach the UTME candidates.
