JIM NWOBODO, FIDELIS OKORO DUMP PDP FOR APC

A former Minister of Information and governor of the old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo, on Friday dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.

Nwobodo, who attended an APC meeting reportedly convened by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Jeffrey Onyeama, in Enugu, declared his membership of the APC to the surprise of most of the party’s members present at the event.

A former PDP senator from Enugu State, Chief Fidelis Okoro, who was in the Senate between 1999 and 2007 also defected to the APC at the meeting.

There were indications that the former PDP bigwigs’ defection did not go down well with some APC members, who openly expressed their dissatisfaction with the development.

He said he joined the APC to move the people of Enugu State into the mainstream at the federal level.

He asked members of the APC not to be discouraged by the electoral losses they suffered in the state in the past.

Nwobodo said, “I am not looking for a job, I am talking because I want peace. I want our people to be part of the Federal Government at the centre.

Also, the immediate past senator representing Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, Alloysius Etok, on Friday dumped the PDP for the APC.

EX-GOV LADOJA RECEIVED N100M FROM ANENIH – PARTY

Accord, one of the minor political parties which did not sponsor a candidate in the 2015 presidential election, has confirmed that its leader, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, received N100m from former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih, ahead of the election.

Ladoja is a former governor of Oyo State and was the governorship candidate of the party during the last election.

The confirmation of the money he received from Anenih, which was believed was from the $2.1b meant for the procurement of arms, was contained in a letter to the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, by the National Secretary of Accord, Mr. Nureni Adisa who said the money was used to support the second term presidential ambition of former President Godluck Jonathan.

DSS ARRESTS FALEKE, AUDU AS KOGI GOV INAUGURATION NEARS

James Abiodun Faleke and Mr. Mohammed Audu were invited by operatives of the Directorate of State Security in Abuja today. The invitation is unconnected with the upcoming governorship inauguration in the state and the need to ensure peace and order before, during and after the inauguration.

It is alleged that many support groups in the state are threatening violence if Faleke was not declared winner of the election, a situation which might have prompted the DSS to invite him for questioning as the January 27 inauguration date draws by.

It will be recalled that after the late Prince Audu died before the governorship election was concluded in the state, James Abiodun Faleke, his running mate claimed that he was the right owner of the mandate even though APC presented Yahaya  Bello to INEC as replacement to the late Prince Abubakar Audu on the strength he came second in the party’s governorship primaries.

  1. these people have no shame and integrity, i really doubt if they will escape the rout of justice, because many of them are corrupt.
